HEALTH TIPS FOR WOMEN
Breast Health
Ask your doctor about regular clinical breast exams. In general it is recommended:
• At least once every 3 years for women ages 20-40
• Once a year for women over 40.
Get written instructions from your doctor on how to do monthly self-examination. Watch for changes:
• Any fluid from the nipple
• A sunken or pulled-in nipple, or a change in the nipple angle
• Any puckering, or dimpling, scaling or redness of skin
• Any lump or thickening (visible or not) that wasn’t there before
Many breast changes are not cancer. But if you notice any change, have it checked our immediately.
Heart Attack and Stroke Warning signs
Call 911 if you or someone is experiencing any of these symptoms:
• Sudden discomfort in your chest that lasts a few minutes
• Nausea, breathlessness, breaking into a cold sweat, lightheadedness
• Sudden numbness or weakness in face, arm or leg, especially on one side of the body
• Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding
• Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes
• Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination
• Sudden, severe headache with no known cause |
