1965: EOFHC was the 1st Community Health Center in the US to offer residency training for family medicine under the direction of Dr. Lynn Carmichael.
1967: Facilities at Mt Tabor Missionary Baptist Church was use as the training site for the first 65 employees.
1968: First Medical Services were provided from a trailer at Gladeview Elementary School.
1970: Medical services were provided from a trailer located at NW 56th street & 27th ave.
1970: James E. Scott Center was the first satellite medical center.
1980: Jessie Trice was appointed as CEO.
1982: Accreditation by the Association of Ambulatory Care Inc.
1988/89: Chief Medical Officer, Fatima Zafar, was part of a team of physicians that treated the first case of HIV in Miami-Dade County.
1992: The first residential program for substance abusing mothers and their children, Jefferson Reaves.House Women’s Residential Substance Abuse Program, was opened.
1992: University of Miami sponsored Internship for foreign trained physicians.
1992: Jessie Trice installed as president of the National Association of Community Health Centers.
1999: First JCAHO accreditation for Ambulatory & Behavioral Care under the leadership of Anthony Munroe.
2002: Collaboration with Florida Memorial University and University of Miami to establish the Jessie Trice Community Nursing program.
2003: EOFHC was the first Community Health Center to sponsor a Master of Public Health Program through the University of South Florida.
2005: Annie Neasman appointed as 6th CEO since EOFHC opened its doors in 1968.
2006: EOFHC is leading the State and Nation in implementing Electronic Health Records – Our Dental Department is one of only three Community Health Centers to use this state of the art tool.
