JTCHC is committed to helping men of all ages get the health services they need. Many of the major health risks that men face can be prevented and treated if they are diagnosed early. While the life-expectancy gap between men and women has decreased to approximately 5 years, there are still many things that men must do to ensure long healthy lives. Spouses, partners, adult children all play a very important role in improving and maintaining the health care of their men through education and awareness.
African American men experience poorer health compared to other racial groups. Much of this is related to lack of affordable health services, cultural barriers and insufficient medial and social services catering to men to them. JTCHC is dedicated to providing services that help to reduce these disparities. Men seen by our physicians receive preventative monitoring on issues like good nutrition, diabetes, heart attack/stroke symptoms, exercise, HIV awareness and prostate health.
